Yes, as there are more gentle runs for rookies, who can also benefit from the brilliant instruction at the resort’s ski schools. And, is Soldeu good for experienced skiers? Absolutely, as these slopes are even used by professional skiers when international competitions come to Soldeu Andorra.
If you look at the Soldeu ski map, true skiing enthusiasts will quickly identify the legendary Avet slope, which is found here. Used as a venue for official International Ski Federation (FIS) events, such as World Cup finals, the Avet slope is known for its fast and technical descent, which absolutely tests a skier’s skills. Its combination of wide-open stretches and sharp turns ensures an exhilarating ride for seasoned skiers.

El Tarter: Adventure and authenticity
The El Tarter Andorra skiing sector is another of the most popular with the many skiers who visit the principality every year. It is a haven for skiers, and snowboarders too, thanks to its challenging slopes, technical snowpark and vibrant freestyle community.
Slopes for advanced skiers and freestyle enthusiasts
Specifically, it’s the Snowpark El Tarter, the snowpark’s official name, which attracts many skiers and snowboarders to El Tarter, Andorra. It boasts the longest line of modules in the Pyrenees, and one of the longest in Europe.
As for the most famous slope of this part of the resort, that would be the Àliga slope, which is certified by FIS and which has hosted several World Cup events. This is actually created by two separate slopes coming together, as the Àliga SG and Àliga DH slopes form a giant X, in the image of the Grandvalira logo. With the high-speed sections of the Àliga slopes having been redesigned in recent years, in order to guarantee skiers’ safety and spectacular action, this is a modern-style slope which also boasts a lot of history.
Soldeu and El Tarter: At the heart of international events
As mentioned above, the Andorra Soldeu and El Tarter sections have each hosted international events over the years, with official federations recognising the quality of these sectors’ pistes and also appreciating the amenities and off-piste activities which surround them.
European Cup Slalom: Soldeu – El Tarter in the spotlight
Another European Cup in slalom is coming to Grandvalira in the near future, as the Soldeu sector will host two giant slaloms of the European Cup on February 3rd and 4th of 2025. The FIS Alpine Europa Cup Andorra is already generating a buzz in this part of the principality, as the last time the European Cup circuit visited Andorra was back in 2022, with the European Cup Finals, so this is a much-anticipated return, in one of the most beloved sectors of Grandvalira Resorts Andorra. As well as the above event, four FIS Super-G races are coming to Grandvalira on February 13th and 14th 2025, in this case on the Àliga slope in El Tarter, Andorra. It’s going to be a fun ski season in the heart of Andorra.
