Grandvalira Resorts will officially kick off the summer season this Saturday, June 22. After the opening of access to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint in Ordino Arcalís on June 8, and the opening of the Pal Arinsal Bike Park last weekend, all of Grandvalira Resorts' summer offerings will be active from this weekend without interruption, except for the Funicamp and the lifts in the Pas de la Casa sector, the Pioners gondola, and the Coll dels Isards chairlift, which will open on July 6 and 13, respectively.
New this season includes more kilometres of electric bike circuits, the addition of a new practice field at the Soldeu Golf, a new program for children at the Pal Arinsal Bike School, as well as the new Furious by Pal Arinsal club, and expansions and improvements in the dining services, among many others. All this in a summer marked by the celebration of the UCI MTB World Championships from August 26 to September 1.
These innovations add to a consolidated summer product with varied proposals, such as the activities at the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo, the Mountain Park and the Bike Park in Pal Arinsal, as well as excursions to the lakes and the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint, making the Grandvalira Resorts stations and Andorra one of the most attractive tourist spots in the Pyrenees, also in summer.
E-Bike circuits, Mon(t) Magic Family Park, and much more
This summer, those who visit the Grandvalira station can enjoy an expanded E-Bike project that now reaches 102 kilometres of electric bike circuits, eight more than in 2023. The five charging points, improved signage, and the new agreement with the navigation app Wikiloc aim to further enhance the experience, offering two new tours designed for e-bikes, but also for trail and enduro. With the Soldeu and Canillo gondolas, and the Funicamp, cyclists can gain elevation more easily and discover the station's circuits.
Additionally, the doors of the Mon(t) Magic Family Park will also open this Saturday for families to enjoy all its activities, such as the longest zip line in the Pyrenees or the iconic Màgic Gliss slide. Among the novelties are new Family Walks itineraries and a new lift. In terms of dining services, visitors will have access to Xiri Forn and the café. Moreover, between August 27 and September 1, it will also be possible to access the Portella Viewpoint.
The Soldeu Golf, which this year opens a new practice field, also opens on Saturday and will remain open until September 29. Visitors can continue to enjoy the exquisite cuisine of the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon.
In the Grau Roig sector, the Restaurant del Llac de Pessons, one of the station's most emblematic restaurants, will open on Saturday and will also be accessible by 4x4 bus from the school. In this same sector, there is one of the departure points for the Grandvalira Mountain Guides, who will carry out thematic outings on special dates, such as full moon nights or during the solar phenomenon at the peak of Arcalís.
Furthermore, another way to enjoy the area will be through the unique accommodations of Epic Andorra, such as the Cabana Piolet, which simulates a tree house at 2,150 m, and the Domo Lodge, a transparent igloo located at a higher altitude, available from June 15.
The Funicamp, the longest funitel in Europe, will open from July 6 to September 1 and will have a 4x4 bus from Solanelles that will take you to the Cubil lake. From there, you can discover the cultural and historical heritage of Orri del Cubil and engage in various activities and hikes. The brasserie at Racó de Solanelles and its café are highly recommended stops to regain strength.
In the Pas de la Casa sector, the Pioners gondola and the Coll dels Isards chairlift will facilitate access, starting July 13, to the Estany de les Abelletes, known among local fishermen.
One of the best Bike Parks in the world and the Mountain Park
Pal Arinsal reopens its Bike Park this Saturday, one of the most prestigious internationally with more than 60 km of circuits, and will be operational every day until September 8. The Bike Park will close during the MTB World Championships, but in September it will reopen on weekends from the 14th until the weekend of October 12 and 13.
Regarding the station's activity centre, the Mountain Park, it will open its doors this Saturday with a new ticket sales model allowing individual purchases or a combined pass, and will be active until September 8.
This first weekend, the dining service will already be in full operation with its wide gastronomic offer thanks to the restaurant at Coll de la Botella, as well as various sales points such as the Xiri and the Expresso Terrace.
In the Arinsal sector, the Dels Orriols gondola will open on weekends in July and August, facilitating access to the Comapedrosa Natural Park.
The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint and traffic-free road for cyclists
One of the main attractions of the summer season in Ordino Arcalís is the easy access to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint via the Tristaina gondola and the Creussans chairlift, which opened on June 8, although the former was operational on weekends. Starting this Saturday, both lifts will be active every day, closing the Coma Road from 8:30 am to 5 pm, leaving the last 4.5 kilometres free of traffic for cyclists. The day in Ordino Arcalís can be completed with the La Coma restaurant, as well as the Kokoi terrace in Hortell.
